MRI Suite

We understand that undergoing an MRI scan can be an overwhelming experience. The entire room is artfully designed for a soothing atmosphere, allowing you to relax during the scan, with your choice of music or spiritual and healing tunes, whichever suits your state of mind. 

 Our digital superconductor MRI scanner is housed in a state-of-the-art suite, featuring stress-reducing comfort tone technology, sound-cancelling earphones, and colour therapy which is known to reduce anxiety and have a positive effect on our bodies, pain levels, and moods.

Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry – DEXA Scan:

A DEXA scan, or Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry scan, is a vital tool for assessing bone health. It uses low-dose x-rays to measure bone mineral density (BMD), providing valuable insights into your risk of fractures and potential bone diseases like osteoporosis. 

With the ability to detect even small changes in Bone Mineral Density before symptoms arise, a DEXA Scan can significantly reduce the risk of debilitating fractures, particularly in high-risk individuals like postmenopausal women and older adults, allowing for early intervention and preventive measures. 

At the OrthoPro Clinic, our approach to patient-care involves preventive and non-surgical interventions, before we recommend surgery, and a DEXA Scan assists in accurate diagnosis for fracture risk assessment, monitoring treatment effectiveness. 

Additionally, a DEXA Scan is the gold standard to assess BMI, muscle tone and fat percentage to maintain health and fitness. It also provides accurate measurements of visceral fats (abdominal fat) which are detrimental for cardiovascular health. 

A quick and painless procedure, a scan typically taking 10-15 minutes. It involves lying on a comfortable table while the scanner passes over your body. Ultrasound Expertise

For a quick diagnosis of tears, inflammation or musculoskeletal investigation, an ultrasound helps visualizing soft tissues like muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bursae. 

Muscle tears and strains can be detected by an ultrasound to help determine the severity and guide treatment decisions. Inflammation of tendons and bursae, fluid-filled sacs cushioning joints, is readily visible on ultrasound, aiding in targeted injections and monitoring treatment progress. Examining joint movement during specific manoeuvres helps diagnose ligament instability or cartilage tears, and it can also be used for therapeutic purposes in orthopaedics and physiotherapists, such as:

• Trigger point injections: Ultrasound guidance ensures accurate targeting of trigger points, muscle knots causing pain, for effective pain relief.
• Fracture healing monitoring: Tracking bone healing progress and callus formation through serial ultrasound examinations.

For all tests at our Advanced Imaging Centre, our team of radiologists provides comprehensive reports within 24 to 48 hours, ensuring that you receive the information you need for further medical consultations or treatment plans.
