Dr. François Bruchou is a French Orthopaedic Surgeon known for his work in shoulder, elbow and upper-limb surgery. His interest in medicine started young, influenced by his father who was also an orthopaedic surgeon. Over the years, that early inspiration shaped a career grounded in precision, technique and patient trust.
Academic Excellence and Surgical Training
- Studied medicine in Paris
- Completed residency with a focus on hand surgery and arthroscopy
- Co-founded SOS Hand, now one of the largest private hand surgery centres in Western Paris with a team of 15 surgeons
- Practiced at Clinique Ambroise Paré in Neuilly, where he founded the French Shoulder Institute (L’Institut Français de l’Épaule)
- Worked with Dr. Valenti at Clinique Bizet to establish a dedicated shoulder surgery education centre

Building Centres of Excellence

- Played a key role in bringing “Office Surgeries” (WALANT surgeries) to France, improving comfort and recovery for many hand and wrist conditions
Global Contributions to Education and Arthroscopy
Teaching is an important part of Dr. Bruchou’s work. Each year, he mentors one surgeon through the University Diploma of Arthroscopy under the French Arthroscopy Society. This role is voluntary and reflects his commitment to developing future specialists.
His international experience includes four years in Western China, where he introduced arthroscopic shoulder surgery to a region where the technique was not yet practiced. He also helped build long-term Franco-Chinese collaborations within orthopaedic societies, creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange.
A New Chapter in Dubai
Dr. Bruchou first moved to Dubai in 2020 while continuing his work in France. After the pandemic, he dedicated time to expanding his French activities before returning to Dubai full-time in October 2023. Today, he provides comprehensive shoulder, elbow and upper-limb care in Dubai, combining European training with a thoughtful, patient-first approach.
